 UNIT 12: OUR TET HOLIDAY 
 Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3)
I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Understand and correctly repeat the sentences in simple communicative contexts in 
relation to the topic “Our Tet holiday” in which ss ask and answer questions about 
where someone will go at Tet.
- Correctly say the words and use Where will you go at Tet? – I’ll go to ..to 
ask and answer questions about where someone will go at Tet;
- Enhance the correct use of Where will you go at Tet? – I’ll go to ..to ask and 
answer questions about where someone will go at Tet in a freer context.
1. Knowledge/ Language focus:
- Vocabulary: my grandparents’ house, a fireworks show, a New Year party, 
 a flower festival
- Sentence patterns:Where will you go at Tet? – I’ll go to ..
2. Skills:speaking.
3. Quality /Attitude: 
Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. 
Educate Ss to show their pride in the traditional holiday in their country.
Kindness: help partners to complete learning tasks
Diligence: complete learning tasks
Responsibility: appreciate kindness
 4. Competences: 
Ss can develop some competences:
- Communication and collaboration: work in pairs and groups to complete the 
learning tasks
- Self-control & independent learning: perform listening tasks 
II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS:
- Pictures, textbook, computer, projector, flashcards, recording 
III. METHODS: 
- Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical 
response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, 
direction method, audiolingual method.
IV. PROCEDURE:

1.Warm- up: 
Game: Slap the board
- Prepare pictures about Tet holiday.
-Divide the class into 3 teams. Number Ss -Ss look and listen.

I. OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
-Listen to and understand four communicative contexts about where someone will 
go at Tet, and number the pictures;
- Complete two gapped exchanges with the help of picture cues;
-Revise the target vocabulary items and structures by playing the game Board race.

- Listening, reading and speaking
3. Quality /Attitude: 
-Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class.

Activity 3.- 6. Let’s play:
- Tell Ss that they are going to play the

- Divide the board into two columns for 
Groups 1 and 2. Divide the class into two 
teams. Give each team a task: each 
member of the team should take turns to 
run to the board and write about where he / 
she will go at Tet. Ask them to write as 
many sentences as possible. Use the 
illustration as an example to demonstrate 
how to play the game.
- Set a time limit for Ss to play the game. 
The team that writes the most correct 
sentences within the time wins. -Ss do the task.
4. Homelink .
- Practice reading part 5.
- Prepare for the next lesson. Lesson 3 -Ss listen.
